What is a typing race?
A typing race is a speed contest. Every racer types the same text. The first racer to the end wins. If the time runs out first, the racer who typed the most characters wins.
This game gives you four bot racers and a text. Pick Easy, Medium or Hard. Pick 30 seconds, 1 minute or 2 minutes. Then start typing. The timer starts on your first key.
How we count WPM and accuracy
We use the standard net WPM formula:
- WPM = correct characters ÷ 5 ÷ minutes. Five characters count as one word.
- Accuracy = correct characters ÷ all typed characters. Fix a wrong key with Backspace, and the fix counts in your favor.
- Errors = wrong keys that you did not fix.
Example: you type 300 correct characters in 60 seconds. 300 ÷ 5 = 60 words per minute.
The race ends in three ways. You finish the text, the time runs out, or every bot finishes. Your place comes from your distance at the end. Racers who finish the text rank above racers who did not.
Meet the bot racers
Four bots join every race: Blaze, Dash, Nova and Turbo. Each bot has its own base speed and its own bad moments, so races stay close.
